site.btaIndustrial Production Up 3.3% in December M/M, Down 6.9% Y/Y

The industrial production index grew by 3.3% in December 2023 compared to the previous month and decreased by 6.9% year on year, show preliminary data published by the National Statistical Institute on Friday.

In December compared to November 2023, an increase was registered in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply  (11.1%), in the mining and quarrying industry (9.4%), and in manufacturing (0.9%).

In December 2023 compared to December 2022, a drop was observed in manufacturing (8.9%) and in the mining and quarrying industry (8.8%). The industrial production index in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply went up by 4.6%.
