In 2022, Bulgarians worked significantly more than the other workers in the EU on average, ranking second to last after Romania in that respect, shows a study by France's Rexecode Institute published on Wednesday. According to the data, Bulgarians worked 1,993 hours a year, while the EU-average stood at 1,679 hours last year. 

Romania ranked first with 2,029 hours of work, followed by Greece with 1,979 hours.

Below the EU-average level were the citizens of the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Austria, and Germany, where people worked 1,600 hours a year.
