site.btaHospital Project in Kardzhali Named Class A Investment

Innovation and Growth Minister Milena Stoicheva presented a Class A certificate to Commercial League - Global Pharmaceutical Centre AD for a BGN 15 million investment to build a multi-profile hospital for active treatment in the southern town of Kardzhali. The project will create 350 jobs, Stoicheva's ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.

The certificate was received by Commercial League CEO Takvor Bohosyan. The ceremony was also attended by InvestBulgaria Agency Executive Director Mila Nenova.

The project will provide work for skilled human-medicine personnel, high standards of diagnosis and medical treatment, and all necessary structures such as a clinic, specialized wards, labs and operating rooms. The future hospital will be furnished with cutting-edge medical equipment that meets the highest standards.

Stoicheva said: "Investments in innovation in the public health sector can redefine Bulgarian healthcare by turning it from a problem area into an area of opportunity. Innovation is the key to change in Bulgarian healthcare." The minister noted that digital literacy is a must in the public health sector.

According to Bohosyan, the future hospital will consist of a diagnosis and consultation centre (with 25 offices in it), surgical and therapeutical wards (with or without beds in them) for various branches of medical practice depending on the needs of the population, an operation block, a diagnostic imaging section, a radiotherapy and nuclear medicine section, and all sorts of auxiliary rooms. It will have up to 250 beds.
