Sofia Air Careerport, the first aviation career forum in Bulgaria, which was unveiled at Sofia Airport's Terminal 2 on Friday, offers a flying start opportunity for those dreaming of a career in aviation. The two-day forum is organized by SOF Connect, the operator of Sofia Airport.
The exhibition features some of Sofia Airport's most valuable partners, including Swissport Bulgaria (ground operator), Lufthansa Technik Sofia (maintenance and repair of aircraft components and engines), Goldair Handling Bulgaria (ground operator), Dufry (retailer operating stores), State Enterprise Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (supplier of air navigation services in the national airspace of Bulgaria).
SOF Connect Executive Director Jesus Caballero said that Sofia Airport employs more than 6,000 specialists. He added: "Our ambitions are to grow. We need the support of talented young people to become an exemplary airport. In just a few years we will transform the airport into one of the best regional airports in Europe. We need to transform the infrastructure, ground handling, security, commercial activity. We have many opportunities for your career development, and today we want to tell you what they are".
Guest speaker at the Sofia Air Careerport will be Raina Koseva – pilot of Bulgaria Air and commander of Embraer 190. She will talk about the challenges of the profession and what it is like to be one of the few female pilots in Bulgaria.
