site.btaBulgaria's Association for Stroke and Aphasia Joins World Patients Alliance
The Association for Stroke and Aphasia (ASA) reported here on Monday that it has been accepted as a full member of the World Patients Alliance (WPA). The WPA offers a platform that ensures patients are actively involved in all stages of healthcare including planning, delivery, monitoring, research and evaluation of healthcare services, which should empower ASA in their efforts to provide safe, affordable, quality healthcare.
WPA Board of Directors Chair Andrew Spiegel welcomed ASA as a member, saying that he looks forward to collaborating with the Association to improve access to safe and innovative treatment and patient-centred healthcare.
Chair of the ASA Board Dorina Dobreva expressed hope that, with support from the WPA, the matter of stroke will finally be permanently placed at the top of the agenda of the Bulgarian government and the public.
