site.btaAward Ceremony of 10th Edition of International Guitar Festival Held in Pleven
The laureates of the competition programme of the 10th edition of the International Guitar Festival were awarded in Pleven on Sunday.
The Grand Prix in the so-called Group of Professionals was awarded to Thanapot Lerttham of Thailand. He also received a prize for the most artistic performance in the name of Lyuben Haralambiev.
The first prize in the fourth group of the International Classical Guitar Competition was awarded to the Italian Andrea Culiale, while Emmanuel Markidis from Greece won the Grand Prix in the age group under 19 years. He was also awarded as the performer rated with the highest number of points.
The Cremona Guitar Award was won by Sofia Kancheva, while the Grand Prix in the age group up to 11 years went to Irina Erdei from Romania.
Prizes for first, second and third place, as well as special honors, were awarded in individual categories. All awards were presented by Artistic Director Nikolay Mihailov and Plovdiv Academy of Music, Dance and Visual Arts Vice-Rector Prof. Elena Dinkova.
The festival saw the participation of 168 active participants from 22 countries, including Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Great Britain, Germany, USA, Thailand, Ukraine, Chile, Japan and many more. It was organized by the Art to Men Association, the LIC Community Centre and the Pleven National School of Arts, with the support of the Culture Ministry.
