The second edition of the International Francophone Theatre Festival for Teachers mottoed "All Champions (on Stage)" took place in the context of International French Teachers' Day, with the participation of teachers from Armenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Montenegro, the Sofia City Regional Education Department said Thursday.
The 9th French Language School named after Alphonse de Lamartine hosted theatre workshops and training sessions led by Jan Nowak (Poland) and Laurent van Vetter (Belgium), as well as by two of the authors of the plays included in this edition, Lucie Depaux (France) and Elise Hopfner (Switzerland). The performances featuring teachers from the French Language School and lecturers from the University of Veliko Tarnovo were staged at the Armenian Cultural House.
The event, organized by the Association of Teachers of French in Bulgaria in partnership with the Centre Regional Francophone pour l'Europe Centrale et Orientale (CREFECO) and the 10 sur 10 programme, was opened by Vyara Lyubenova, President of the Association of Teachers of French in Bulgaria, and CREFECO Director Emmanuel Samson.
For the French-speaking educational community, this event was an opportunity for artistic expression, sharing of professional experience, and inspiration for ever more diligent work in the realm of the French language and culture, the release said.
