site.bta20th Edition of World Festival of Animated Film to Take Place in Varna September 11-15

The 20th edition of the World Festival of Animated Film will take place between September 11 and 15 at the Festival and Congress Centre in Varna, the organizers said on Wednesday.

Over 70 films have been nominated in seven categories, including categories for short films and student films. There will be separate categories for horror and erotic films, as well as a category for animation for kids. In addition to the international nominations, the festival will also include a selection of Bulgarian animations created in the last couple of years.

The event includes workshops in which children will be presented the opportunity to create an animated video and screen it at the closing ceremony. There will be lectures and meetings with the guests of the festival. New Bulgarian University graduates will display artworks during an exhibition. 

The jury of the 20th edition of the festival is composed of winners of major awards over the years, including Serbian animator and teacher Lea Vidakovic, French animator Paul Mas and Estonian director and artist Priit Pärn.
