site.btaCC-DB’s Atanas Atanasov: Those Who Defend the Vote of No confidence Side with Aggressor Russia

“It is clear that those who defend the motives of this no-confidence vote are siding with the aggressor Russia. Let us be clear where Bulgaria stands - Bulgaria stands on its European path, which was chosen by our revolutionaries before liberation,” said Atanas Atanasov, MP of Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria on Wednesday during the debate on the vote of no confidence in the government of Rosen Zhelyazkov over its foreign policy failure. The vote was moved on the initiative of Vazrazhdane with the signatures of 54 MPs from the parliamentary groups of MECh and Velichie.

“Regardless of the fact that we voted against the election of this government, we will not support this vote of no confidence,” Atanasov said.

He said that in terms of Bulgaria's external security, the most serious risk to Bulgarian national security is the war in Ukraine. 

"Beneath the calls for peace, Putin's intention to continue the war and, quote, “to finish Ukraine” is clearly visible," Atanasov noted. “Bulgaria is a relatively small country with limited resources and our membership in the richest union in the world is really a guarantee for our national security,” he added.
