site.btaParliament Chair: I Will Do My Best to Adopt State Budget by End-2024
I will do my best it so that we have a budget before the end of the year, National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova told journalists in Panagyurishte, where together with Vice President Iliana Iotova she attended the observances of the 75th anniversary of the discovery of the Panagyurishte gold treasure.
Asked if December 31 was a realistic deadline to adopt the budget, Kiselova said that it depends on 240 MPs, but whatever depends on her, she would do to have a budget before the end of the year.
Asked to comment on GERB’s statement that leader Boyko Borissov will receive the first mandate to form a cabinet, Kiselova said that consultations were forthcoming. Let's wait to see how the consultations with the president will go. Who will be GERB's candidate to receive the mandate is a matter for their parliamentary group to decide and they are already initiating talks with other parliamentary groups, she noted.
Asked whether there had been any discussion about the possibility of BSP-United Left supporting a GERB government, she said that this was a question for the leadership of the parliamentary group, adding that the talks over the past weeks had been mainly about the work of Parliament.
