By order of caretaker Education and Science Minister Galin Tzokov, January 3, 2025, has been declared a non-school day for all schools in Bulgaria, Tzokov's ministry said in a press release. Teachers will restructure the curriculum from January 3 so as not to affect the overall learning process.

The order was issued on the ministry's data that nearly half of the country's schools (over 45.5%) will not hold school classes on January 3, following orders at the municipal level. Thus, the ministry has concluded that there would be tension in the school system if half of the schools in the country hold classes on January 3 and the rest are not operational that day, the press release further reads.
