Representatives of the Bulgarian Socialist Party held a meeting with a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), BSP - United Left said in a press release on Tuesday. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the BSP in Sofia and was attended by Atanas Zafirov, Chair of the BSP - United Left coalition, MPs Dragomir Stoynev, Ivan Ivanov, and Deyan Dechev, among other party members.
Both sides expressed desire to continue developing the traditional friendship between Bulgaria and Vietnam and between BSP and CPV, respectively.
BSP - United Left MP Dragomir Stoynev drew attention to the fact that trade between Bulgaria and Vietnam is extremely low - some USD 220 million, and this does not reflect the bilateral friendly relations and opportunities. "We can offer Vietnam production and technologies in the chemical, engineering and pharmaceutical industries. We would also support Vietnamese investors in our country," Stoynev added.
The Vietnamese guests briefed their Bulgarian colleagues on major successes in combining the communist idea with global economic development.
