site.btaCabinet Adopts Plan for Implementation of National Scientific Research Strategy's Second Stage

The Council of Ministers Wednesday adopted an operational plan for the implementation of the second stage of the 2017-2030 National Scientific Research Strategy of the Republic of Bulgaria. The Strategy’s main objective is to turn this country into a hub for cutting-edge scientific research and development of new technologies and to keep young scientists in Bulgaria.

The measures in the adopted operational plan includes the provision of high qualification and effective career development for scientists, and the consolidation of human resources and financial means for the implementation of national scientific programmes to address key societal challenges. The plan also aims to promote applied research to address specific business needs.

The development, maintenance, and efficient utilization of a modern scientific infrastructure and access to European and international scientific infrastructure are crucial for the scientific system. The participation of Bulgarian scientists in European programmes, bilateral and international scientific partnerships, and the strengthening of links with the Bulgarian scientific diaspora will be encouraged, the Council of Ministers said in a press release.
