site.btaInterior Minister Stoyanov Dismisses as "Ludicrous and Vicious" Call for His Replacement in Next Caretaker Cabinet

Bulgarian caretaker Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov dismissed as "ludicrous and even vicious" what he described as "bids by certain political circles to publicly seek an interior minister to restore their lost public trust by doubling or trebling their parliamentary election results."

Stoyanov's Facebook post on Thursday apparently reacted to an appeal by Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) Floor Leader Nikolay Denkov to President Rumen Radev during consultations earlier in the day to think about a different complement of the Interior Ministry leadership when a line-up of a caretaker cabinet under the next caretaker prime minister comes under consideration.

CC-DB MP Bozhidar Bozhanov said after the consultations that, according to their estimates, at least 35,000 more votes were bought, compared to 2023, after Stoyanov took over the Interior Ministry.

Stoyanov said on Facebook that his Ministry "cannot be held responsible for anybody's political flops".
