A code yellow alert for dangerously hot weather has been issued across 18 regions for Monday, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) said.
The warning is in force for the regions of Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardjik, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Kardjali, Haskovo, Sliven, Yambol, Razgrad, Targovishte, Shumen, Silistra, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Lovech and Gabrovo. Highs: 33C to 38C, 33C in Sofia.
According to the weather forecast, on Sunday it will be sunny, but cumulous and cumulus-rain clouds will develop over the western half of the country and Ludogorie, and there will be short-term showers of rain and thunder, and possible hail.
The Black Sea coast: Mostly sunny, with moderate southeasterly wind. Highs: 27C-30C Sea water temperature: 27C-28C.
Cumulus clouds will develop over the mountains and there will be brief showers and thunderstorms, possible hail, with a moderate west-northwesterly wind. Highs: 28C at 1,200 m, 20C at 2,000 m.
