The John Atanasov Vocational School of Economics and Informatics in Targovishte will introduce an humanoid robot into the educational process, said the school management on Friday. With this, the innovative high school will be among the first educational institutions in Bulgaria to implement such technology.

Marina Marinova, pedagogical advisor at the school, said that there will be classes for the professional preparation of applied programming in the coming academic year, in which students and future programmers and computer scientists will develop innovative software that will enrich the possibilities and guide the robot's activities. By developing specific codes, students will be able to give various commands to the robot, after which it will be able to sing, dance and communicate.

The project will be implemented under the National Vocational Education and Training Programme and has a total value of about BGN 50,000, with co-financing provided by a partner organization of the school. It is expected that more than half of the students in the educational institution will benefit from the new technology at the school, which has over 400 high school students.
