JULY 20: Mostly sunny in the morning. Cumulus cloud will develop in the afternoon and in the evening, bringing brief, temporarily intense rain showers and thunder in many areas before midnight. Hailstorms are possible, mainly in Northwestern Bulgaria. Wind light to moderate, northeasterly; turning west-northwesterly in the northwest in the evening. Highs: 32 C to 37 C, in Sofia 32 C.

The coast: Mostly sunny, with cloudy spells in the afternoon, but no precipitation. Wind light to moderate, northeasterly. Highs: 30 C to 33 C. Sea water temperatures: 28 C to 29 C. Sea waves: 2 to 3 degrees Douglas.

The mountains: Mostly sunny in the morning. The highlands in the western half of the country will have cumulus cloud in the afternoon, with brief, temporarily intense rain showers, thunder and periods of stronger wind in many areas. Generally, the wind will be light to moderate, north-northeasterly. Highs: 28 C at 1,200 metres above sea level, 20 C at 2,000 metres.

JULY 21: The air mass will remain unsettled. Hours of sunshine will alternate with periods of cumulus cloud. Brief showers and thunderstorms are expected in many areas, mainly in Central Bulgaria. Wind northwesterly. Highs: 30 C to 35 C.
