site.btaFewer Youths under 29 Register as Unemployed: Employment Agency Data
There has been a good trend in the number of registered unemployed youth under 29, BTA learned from Gabriela Goranova-Dimcheva, deputy executive director of the National Employment Agency. Among the unemployed young people under 29, the largest number are those with primary or education and lower (45%). About 43% of the registered have a secondary education, 12.3% have a university degree, and 66.3% have no qualifications or specialisations. The group is predominated by women. The most unemployed young people under 29 years were registered in Plovdiv, Blagoevgrad and Sofia.
Dimcheva urged the unemployed young people to seek the services of the Agency to find suitable jobs and improve their competences. She reminded about the free vouchers that the Agency grants for professional qualification trainings and for developing key competences.
The first piece of advice the Agency gives is to register with a labour office. There are specialised employment intermediaries who take into account the individual profile of unemployed young people, and can also help job seekers polish their professional CV, cover letter, and interview skills, Dimcheva explained.
