Traffic is heavy at some checkpoints along the border with Serbia, Greece, Romania and Turkiye on Friday morning, Border Police said on its website.

At the border with Romania, traffic is heavy at the Oryahovo and Kardam checkpoints at the exit for trucks. At all border crossing points with Romania, the traffic of cars is heavy in both directions.

Every Friday from 16:00 to 22:00 the Romanian authorities do not allow trucks through Durankulak in both directions; on Saturdays, Sundays, pre-holiday and public holidays the restriction is from 06:00 to 22:00. Due to major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse, a temporary traffic organisation has been introduced, with traffic in one lane with a through traffic regime and regulated by traffic lights.

Traffic is extremely heavy at Kulata on the border with Greece for trucks at the exit. The border authorities urge travellers to use alternative crossing points on the Bulgarian-Greek border which are less congested and allow faster crossing due to the significantly increased traffic through the Kulata and Makaza and the large number of Romanian tourists.

Tourists travelling to resorts in the area of Thessaloniki, Kavala and the Halkidiki peninsula can pass through the Ilinden checkpoint as an alternative to Kulata. Tourists travelling to resorts in the area of Xanthi, Komotini and Thasos can use the Zlatograd checkpoint as an alternative to Makaza. For resorts in the area of Alexandroupolis, it is recommended to pass through Kapitan Petko Voyvoda.

Only cars and vans are allowed to pass through the border crossing points Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad.

At the border with Serbia, traffic is heavy at Kalotina at the entrance for cars.

Traffic is normal at all border crossing points on the border with North Macedonia.

At the border with Turkiye, traffic is heavy at the checkpoint Kapitan Andreevo at the entrance for cars.
