site.btaUPDATED Vazrazhdane Demands Resignations of PM Glavchev, Interior Minister Stoyanov Because of Situation with Fires across Country
The Government should take responsibility, [caretaker Prime Minister] Dimitar Glavchev and [caretaker Interior Minister] Kalin Stoyanov should resign immediately, today, said here on Thursday Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov in response to a question regarding the situation with the fires in the country.
"It is obvious that we do not have the ability as a country to deal with forest fires at the moment," he said.
"While the State gives hundreds of millions of leva to foreign countries, in this case aid to Ukraine and for the support of nearly 100,000 Ukrainian tourists in Bulgaria, our country is burning, villages have burned down," Kostadinov said.
"Do you remember those armoured personnel carriers (APCs) that we gave to Ukraine, back then they explained to us in Parliament that we did not need them. Now it turns out that we have to ask for help from abroad," the leader Vazrazhdane said. If these APCs were available now, we would not be wondering how to make [wildfire] clearings, he noted.
Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) has called for the resignation of the caretaker Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov, due to inadequate handling of recent fires and overall mismanagement within the Ministry, CC-DB MP Yavor Bozhankov said on Thursday.
