site.btaBulgaria's Stefan Yanev Attends NATO Defence Ministers Meeting
On the first day of the NATO Defence Ministers meeting in Brussels Wednesday, Bulgarian Defence Minister Stefan Yanev briefed his counterparts on the decision of the Bulgarian government for this country's contribution to the allied efforts by building a battalion combat unit under Bulgarian command with an option for participation of the Allies in the event of capacity shortfall. He thanked the Netherlands and Spain for their support to Bulgaria in air policing.
The meeting discussed the challenges to security in Europe focusing on the situation in and around Ukraine, and the advancement of the defence and deterrence potential of NATO.
