February 28 (BTA) - The kick-off meeting for a "day
ahead" electricity market coupling project between Croatia,
Serbia and Bulgaria was successfully held in Belgrade on
February 13, the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX)
reported on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by all main stakeholders: electricity
system operators HOPS, EMS and ESO, energy exchange operators
CROPEX, SEEPEX and IBEX, and energy regulators HERA, AERS and
EWRC.

The initiative was welcomed by all parties involved. A joint
commitment was confirmed to provide all necessary efforts and
resources in order to ensure the project's feasibility and
timely implementation. The project is aimed to implement
trilateral market coupling within the Multi-Regional Coupling
framework which is expected to provide long-term benefits for
market participants and consumers within the current initiative.
