March 14 (BTA) - At a news conference here on Thursday,
the Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), Maxim
Minchev, presented the agency's newly constructed high-tech
multimedia centre. It will be used as a space for presenting
various types of information in a modern, high-tech, interactive
visual environment, as well as for hosting cultural events.
The Director of BTA's Cultural Communications Department, Georgi
Lozanov, said that as a public media, part of the Bulgarian
News Agency's mission is to serve as a cultural institution. He
explained that the multimedia centre is equipped with a system
for 180-degree panoramic imaging, interactive touch screens and
high-quality sound.
On Thursday, the Bulgarian-Spanish project ESTRUNA Arcangel &
New Bulgarian Voices were the first to use the BTA's multimedia
centre. They performed their typical songs - a combination of
flamenco and Bulgarian folklore rhythms - to the accompaniment
of Assoc. Prof. Georgi Petkov.
The multimedia centre currently hosts an exhibition of Bulgarian
painter Greddy Assa.
