President Radev
Opens Visit to
Egypt

Cairo, March 25 (BTA special correspondent Assen Boyadzhiev) - President Rumen Radev and a business delegation led by him arrived Monday on an official visit to Egypt. During the visit, which continues until March 27, Radev will meet with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal Sayyed Ahmed.

Egypt has a key role in the region for combatting terrorism, organized crime, radical Islam and illegal migration, which is why cooperating with Egypt is important both for the Bulgarian and the European security, Radev told journalists in Cairo.

The country is also Bulgaria's biggest trade and economic partner for the Middle East region and for Africa. Trade has already exceeded one billion dollars, but there is scope for further development, Radev said, adding that dialogue and mutual trust at a high political level are an important condition for the potential to be developed.

Radev expects that a number of bilateral agreements and business contracts will be signed during the visit. "I expect us to strike really good deals," he said. RY/TH
