Washington, D.C./Sofia, March 26 (BTA) - On Day Two of the 2019 American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Policy Conference in Washington, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Chairman of the Bulgarian National Assembly Internal Security and Public Order Committee and GERB Floor Leader, met with Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila. Tsvetanov conveyed greetings from Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and congratulated Romania on its successful EU Council Presidency, said GERB's press office.

Tsvetanov met with House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and invited him to visit Bulgaria in 2019 or 2020.

Meeting with Daniel S. Mariaschin, CEO and Executive Vice President of B'nai B'rith International, Tsvetanov discussed various aspects of the fight against anti-Semitism. Mariaschin thanked the Bulgarian official for expressing "a reasonable assumption" of Hezbollah's involvement in the 2012 suicide attack on a bus taking Israeli tourists from the airport at Bourgas (on the Black Sea), in which five of them and the Bulgarian driver were killed.

Tsvetanov also met with Oklahoma Senator James Lankford. The two have known each other for a long time from the National Prayer Breakfasts. Tsvetanov discussed the possible holding of a second regional Prayer Breakfast in Bulgaria in 2020. The first one to be hosted by this country took place in 2017. LI/DD
