Seventy exhibitors will take part in the Christmas exhibition of minerals, gems and fossils, which will be held from December 6 to 8 at the “Earth and Man” National Museum, the organizers said Friday.

Visitors can see and buy processed precious and decorative stones, and a variety of products from them. Collectors will find minerals from Bulgarian deposits, rare and exotic minerals - specimens of exceptional class from around the world, including famous and recently discovered deposits in: South Africa, Mozambique, Zaire, Namibia, Ethiopia, Malawi, Madagascar, Tanzania, Morocco, India, Pakistan, Russia, Bolivia, Congo, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, England, Indonesia, and the Dominican Republic. 

In 1991, the “Earth and Man” National Museum held the First Sofia International Exhibition of Minerals. Over the years, the mineral exhibitions grew into the Days of Minerals, organized three times a year: for Easter and Christmas, and in October - the Sofia International Exhibition of Minerals, Fossils and Gems. Individual collectors, companies, mining enterprises and Bulgarian universities participate in the events, the museum team said.
