Cohesion policy in the European Union will be the topic of a conference in Burgas under the BTA project "Europe in the Balkans: Together through Knowledge" on Friday. The discussion will take place at the Bulgaria Hotel at 1 pm.

The forum will be opened by Evgenia Drumeva, BTA Deputy Director General for Information Policy. Also scheduled to participate are Yordanka Chobanova, Head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria; Mihail Nenov, Deputy Mayor of Burgas for Education, Health, Social Activities and Youth Policies; Prof. Maria Neykova, Regional Governor of Burgas; Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozov, Rector of Asen Zlatarov University Burgas; Prof. Dr. Milen Baltov, Rector of Burgas Free University; Iveta Koleva, Transport Connectivity Programme 2021-2027, Ministry of Transport and Communications; Radoslav Rizov, Director General of "European Funds for Competitiveness", Ministry of Innovation and Growth; Petar Garov from the Directorate General "European Funds, International Programmes and Projects", Ministry of Labour and Social Policy; Magda Moskova, Senior Expert, Executive Agency "Education Programme" - Burgas; Ana Yancheva, Manager, Regional Information Centre - Burgas; Yana Karshyiska, Director, Regional Library - Burgas

BTA launched its new project "Europe in the Balkans: Together through Knowledge" with an opening conference in Veliki Preslav. The main objective of the project is to provide objective and comprehensive information to give an accurate overall picture of the European Union's cohesion policy, including the Just Transition Fund, relevant support under the Recovery Plan for Europe or from the Technical Support Instrument. Special emphasis will be placed on education and skills as a driver for regional development.

Between November 2024 and September 2025 BTA is organizing discussions in its press clubs in Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Kazanlak, Kardzhali, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Petrich, Pleven, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Ruse, Samokov, Svishtov, Silistra, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Troyan, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen and Yambol, as well as cross-border conferences in Belgrade, Bosilegrad, Bucharest, Adrianople, Skopje and Thessaloniki.

Since the beginning of the project, BTA has organized conferences in Plovdiv, Silistra, Petrich and Montana.
