The conditions for hiking in the mountains are not good on Thursday, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross told BTA.

The situation in the mountains is wintery, there is fog, and in many places a significant fresh snow cover. The winter resorts are expected to officially open the season in the coming days.

The weather in the mountains will be cloudy, with light snowfall in places and a light southerly wind, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology reported. Highs: 3C at 1,200m, -2C at 2,000m.
