Turkiye has received an offer from BRICS to become a partner country, an associate member of the association, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced on Wednesday in response to a question on whether Turkiye would join the organization.

"The BRICS (founded by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - ed.) is a cooperation organization, it includes important countries that account for 25% of the world's GDP", Bolat pointed out, adding that BRICS is gaining popularity. "As regards to Turkiye joining BRICS, we have been offered associate membership. Joining BRICS will bring Turkiye significant benefits in terms of cooperation with all important global platforms", the Minister said.
