The Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Montenegro, Novica Yovovic, was awarded the Golden Laurel Branch Badge of Honour of the Foreign Ministry at an official ceremony in Podgorica on September 13. The award was presented by Ambassador Stefan Dimitrov and was awarded for Yovovic's numerous merits over the past 13 years to the development of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Montenegro, the Bulgarian Embassy in Podgorica said on Monday.
After Dimitrov's welcoming speech to the Honorary Consul and the guests of the event, a congratulatory letter from Bulgarian President Rumen Radev was read out, expressing appreciation for Yovovic's work.
The Embassy added that the Honorary Consul expressed special gratitude for the award and promised to continue contributing to the development of cultural, economic and trade relations between the two countries in the future.
Among the guests at the event were representatives of the Montenegrin institutions (Presidency, Government and Ministries), the head of the Delegation of the European Union, the Ambassadors to Podgorica of the US, Slovakia, Croatia, Albania, Serbia, Turkiye and North Macedonia, members of the diplomatic corps, including the honorary consuls in Montenegro, representatives of the business community, as well as relatives and friends of Novica Jovovic, the diplomatic mission added.
