Bulgaria's top tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Brisbane International on Wednesday after defeating Australia's Aleksandar Vukic 6-2 7-6(5).

The 33-year-old Bulgarian dominated the second-round match, which lasted just 85 minutes. He struck 12 aces and won 31 out of 33 first-serve points.

In the quarter-finals, the two-time men's champion will meet eighth-seeded Australian Jordan Thompson. The two faced off in last year's Brisbane semi-finals.
