The Executive Director of the Apollonia Art Foundation Margarita Dimitrova received a high Culture Ministry honour on the fifth night of the Apollonia Festival of Arts in the resort town of Sozopol Monday. She was presented the Golden Century necklace by Culture Minister Nayden Todorov after the premiere of the Apollonia Festival Orchestra in the Sozopol Amphitheatre.

"Bulgaria has its arts that really save us in this time. These arts also have their festivals and most of these festivals make us forget all things bad. There are all kinds of festivals, but there is one festival that is a festival of arts and it brings together music, theatre, fine arts, literature, cinema. It brings together the best that can be seen in Bulgaria," the Culture Minister said of Apollonia. 

On stage at the Apollonia Amphitheatre that evening were Albena Danailova (violin - concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic), Svetlin Rusev (violin - concertmaster of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Roman Switzerland, the Seoul Philharmonic (2007/2015) and the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra (2005/2017), Liya Petrova (violin soloist of the most famous orchestras, laureate of the most prestigious festivals), Nikolay Minchev (violin - concertmaster of the Wuppertal Opera Symphony Orchestra), Stoimen Peev (violin - concertmaster of the Sofia Soloists Chamber Ensemble), Valya Dervenska (violin - concertmaster of the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra), Kalina Hristova (violin - concertmaster of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra), Galina Koycheva (violin - concertmaster of the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra), Rumen Tsvetkov (viola - prominent soloist and director of the Mercy Art Festival, Madrid), Stefania Yankova (viola - principal viola of the Bulgarian National Radio's SO), Alexander Somov (cello - concertmaster of the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra), Ivan Lalev (cello - concertmaster of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra) and Dimitar Ivanov (double bass - concertmaster of the Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra). They gathered especially for the 40th edition of Apollonia and tonight they debuted on stage as a line-up.
