site.btaRaspberry Festival Opens in Balkan Mountain near Berkovitsa

The 32nd annual Raspberry Festival in the Berkovsky Balkan has started, Berkovitsa municipality told BTA on Friday. This year's event runs from August 9 to 11 and takes place in the Gornata Koria area near the Kom-Nova mountain lodge, Northeastern Bulgaria.

The event is organised by Berkovitsa Tourist Society and the town’s Tourist Veterans Club, with financial support from Berkovitsa Municipality.

The Raspberry Festival, an annual event in Berkovitsa, celebrates nature, the mountain, and raspberries. The festival happens in the second week of August and features singing, campfires, hikes, and social events.

Over 120 tourists from 20 clubs nationwide are expected to participate in this edition of the festival, the municipal government said.
