site.btaNo Traffic Congestion at Danube Bridge Ruse
Traffic is normal in the area of the Danube Bridge checkpoint near Ruse on Friday and there were no queues of vehicles, a BTA correspondent reported.
Border Police staff said that cars wait no more than five minutes to cross the bridge, which is the duration of the red traffic light. It was put in place because of the overhaul of the Bulgarian section of the facility, which started Wednesday.
However, in peak hours the crossing can take about 40 minutes.
From 9 am on July 11 to 9 am on July 12, over 1,320 trucks passed through the facility on their way out of Bulgaria, and about 882 entered the country, the border crossing also said. Separately, 3,424 cars crossed the bridge in the direction of Romania.
Border Police officers also regulate traffic in the area of construction and repair activities.
