site.btaSummer Tourist Season Kicks Off in Nessebar

Head of State Rumen Radev opened the summer tourist season in Nessebar on Friday. The event, which was held under his patronage, was attended by ministers, politicians, mayors of municipalities from Burgas region, representatives of Bulgarian institutions diplomats, and tourists.

"I am glad that together we can announce the symbolic beginning of the tourist season and wish each other a sunny and wonderful summer," the President said. He congratulated the Mayor of Nessebar Nikolay Dimitrov for the efforts made by the Municipality to maintain its reputation as a UNESCO site.

"The thousand-year history of our lands coexists here with the comfort of modern tourist services, the splendour of our nature, and the famous hospitality of the local people," the head of State said. He expressed the hope that this year the industry will live up to the expectations of tourists.

Caretaker Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev said he expects the tourist season to be safe and stable. "We live in a time of crises, of global clashes. And we are in a place that is close to these clashes. That is why it is important to send out this message - Bulgaria is a safe place," he added.
