The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) and the Podkrepa Confederation of Labour committed to ensuring the implementation of the amendments to the Higher Education Act and providing the necessary funds for salary increases for the administrative staff of higher education institutions, the MRF said in a press release on Friday.
The agreement was signed by Delyan Peevski - one of the two MRF leaders, CITUB President Plamen Dimitrov, Podkrepa Confederation of Labour President Dimitar Manolov, Lilyana Valcheva – Chair of the Higher Education and Science National Branch Syndicate with CITUB, and Valeri Apostolov – Chair of the Higher Education and Science National Branch Syndicate with the Podkrepa Confederation of Labour.
According to the agreement, by end-June, the 50th National Assembly will take all necessary actions to implement the commitments to higher education institutions as a national priority.
