site.btaCC-DB Co-leaders: Coalition's Participation in Government Can Guarantee Higher Living Standard

The co-leaders of Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) - Kiril Petkov, Assen Vassilev, Atanas Atanassov, and Nikolay Denkov - met with supporters here on Tuesday. In Atanassov's words, the coalition's participation in the country's governance can guarantee a higher standard of living, because otherwise "we will sink into [GERB leader Boyko] Borissov's corrupt State". 

Commenting on CC-DB's request for an extraordinary parliamentary sitting over the planned increase of pensions, Denkov said that the coalition's style from now on will be to react fast when the caretaker government is doing something foolish, so that the power holders would correct themselves.

In Petkov's words, the power holders change their decisions constantly. "Although they are now saying that they will raise pensions by 11%, we do not trust them. We will oblige them [to do so] through a vote in the plenary hall so that we could be sure they will not steal BGN 100 million from pensioners. We believe we have a majority in Parliament that will protect pensioners. We are happy that we are the people who raised the issue," Petkov said.
