Sales Conducted by Trustees in Bankruptcy to Be Included in Single Register

Sofia, February 9 (BTA) - Experts are beginning to create a single register of sales conducted by trustees in bankruptcy, Maria Shoukerova, President of the newly established Bulgarian Association of Trustees in Bankruptcy, told a BTA-hosted news conference on Thursday.

The idea is to make such information accessible to a wider range of people, Shoukerova said.

Bulgaria has 250 registered trustees in bankruptcy. A bankruptcy procedure is the ultimate way to settle matters between a debtor and a creditor. Many people are unclear about the trustee's role in the procedure, Shoukerova said.

The new association is planning to hold talks with employer and banking organizations. It wants to make the profession transparent and prestigious. Therefore, it will have its own code of ethics. The association also aspires to contribute to the working out of relevant rules.
