Europe's best amateur golfers arrived in Balchik to participate in the European Senior Men's Team Championship at BlackSeaRamaGolf Club & Villas.

Players selected by qualifying in the strongest golfing countries on the Old Continent competed for a week on the course designed by the legendary Gary Player. The competition features 126 golfers divided into 20 visiting teams of six, plus host team Bulgaria.

Four representatives of the European Golf Association (EGA) also came to BlackSeaRama for the tournament week.

This is the most representative EGA tournament held in Bulgaria, as well as the longest - a total of five rounds are played plus a practice round: two qualifying and three in match play format.

The competition was opened with a ceremony by host Kancho Stoychev.

Hanna Hartikainen, an EGA Board member, said this is the third year in a row that she has been to a tournament in Bulgaria and she is very impressed with the organizational skills of the golf people here. BlackSeaRama is a championship course meeting the highest European and world standards. Bulgaria is becoming an established golf destination, said she.
