Traffic is heavy at some of the border checkpoints with Romania and Greece, according to an update by Border Police (DGBP) as of 6 am on Wednesday.

At the border with Romania, traffic is heavy at the border checkpoints Kardam, Durankulak, Oryahovo, and VIdin for exiting trucks. Due to the major repair of the Bulgarian section of the Danube bridge near Ruse, the traffic is being carried out in one lane and regulated by a traffic light system. In addition to Ruse border checkpoint, drivers in the region can also go through the Silistra , Kardam , Durankulak, Kaynardzha and Krushari border checkpoints. The last two are open every day from 8 am to 8 pm, bu do not allow for trucks.

On the border with Greece, traffic at the Kulata checkpoint is heavy for exiting at trucks. In connection with the significantly increased crossings of  large number of Romanian tourists traveling to and from Greece through the Kulata and Makaza border checkpoints, the Border Police recommends the use of alternative checkpoints on the Bulgarian-Greek border, which are less busy and allow faster passage.

On the border with Serbia, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.

On the border with the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.

On August 26, implementation of activities under a contract related to the construction of the EU Entry/Exit System began at the Gueshevo border checkpoint. The booths for border checks of passing trucks will be dismantled and replaced with new ones. The traffic of passing trucks will be temporarily diverted through the lanes for passing cars.

On the border with the Republic of Turkiye, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.
