All Contracts for First Stage of 3rd Line of Sofia Underground Signed

Sofia, February 27 (BTA) - Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Lyubomir Hadjiiski announced the start of the construction of the 3rd line of the Sofia Underground, the Transport Ministry's press centre said.

Hadjiiski noted that this is the most complex section of the underground running through the city centre and reaching the Ovcha Koupel quarter. "The construction of the underground was financed by over 1,000 million leva already during the first programming period of Operational Programme and this has been one of the best investments yielding fast and high-quality results, visible for all Sofianites and visitors of the capital," said he.

A total of 685 million leva have been provided under OP Transport and Transport Infrastructure during the current programming period. All contracts with contractors have been signed for the construction of the first stage of the third line, Hadjiiski also said.
