Sofia, March 6 (BTA) - Meeting with members of the Bulgarian Startup Association (BESCO) Wednesday President Rumen Radev said that promoting high tech startups is an investment in the future of Bulgaria's economy. Participating in the meeting were representatives of companies operating in the area of IT and communications, cyber security, biotechology and space technology.

IT and communications aid the establishment of an entirely new model of social development, noted Radev.

He said that boosting ties between the institutions, the business and education and high tech startups creates prospects for young Bulgarians to pursue a career in their native country.

The Bulgarian head of State added that the Presidency will step up dialogue with new high tech startups and their representatives will be included in the delegations led by the President abroad.

BESCO members familiarized the President with the operation of their companies, some of which have implemented successfully projects in Bulgaria and abroad in the area of cyber security, education and space technology.

The meeting discussed ways to improve dialogue between small companies and the institutions, and how to utilize their products in Bulgaria's security and defence. LI/PP
