The mission of teachers in Bulgarian schools abroad is even greater and it is for people who love their motherland, Vice President Iliana Iotova said at the opening of the new school year at the Bulgarian Sunday School "Sts. Cyril and Methodius” in Barcelona. the President's press secretariat said.  
  
More than 120 pupils study at the school.  
  
"Being a teacher is a mission," the Vice President said. "With the knowledge and skills you are teaching, our children become twice as rich. You tell them the great story of our homeland, its beauties and rich history, you teach them one of the most ancient languages in Europe," Iotova said. She thanked the parents for their support, without which the teachers' mission would not be successful. 
  
On the occasion of the beginning of the new school year Iliana Iotova presented the school with a gilded plaque with the Cyrillic letters and an icon of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, who are the patron saints of the school.  
  
The Vice President and representatives of the Bulgarian community in Barcelona celebrated together the Unification Day of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia, the President's press secretariat said.
