site.btaPenko Gospodinov Wins Best Actor Award at Florence International Film Festival
Bulgaria's Penko Gospodinov received the Best Actor Feature Film Award for the Bulgarian-Ukrainian production The End of the River at the Florence International Film Festival, its website said.
The film directed by Bessarabian-born Vasil Barkov also won an Honorable Mention from the adult and youth jury.
Gospodinov is a theatre and film actor, professor and vice-rector for academic and artistic activities at the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts. In The End of the River, he plays a 50-year-old Bulgarian amateur astronomer.
The festival's fourth edition took place on December 11-15, with 305 entries from 54 countries. Nigerian director Desmond Elliot's Switched-Up won the Best Feature Film Award.
