The Total Producer Price Index in Industry rose by 2.9% in November 2024 compared to the previous month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said here on Monday.
An increase of 11.7% was registered in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, in the manufacturing industry by 0.2%, and in the mining and quarrying industry by 0.1%.
Higher prices in the manufacturing industry were observed in the manufacture of food products, by 1.1%, in the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, in the manufacture of basic metals, and in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, by 0.8% in each.
A decrease was seen in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products, by 0.9%, in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials, by 0.8%.
The Total Producer Price Index went up by 1.1% in November 2024 compared to the same month of 2023. An increase was observed in the mining and quarrying industry by 25.2%, as well as in the manufacturing industry by 0.7%. There was a price reduction in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 2.7%.
In manufacturing, prices rose in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, by 11.8%, in the manufacture of furniture, by 9.6%, and in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, by 7.0%.
Price reduction was registered in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials, and in the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, both by 4.9%, as well as in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, by 4.8%.
The Producer Price Index on the Domestic Market increased by 4.9% in November 2024 compared to a month earlier. The domestic prices grew in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 13.4%, in the mining and quarrying industry, by 0.5%, and in manufacturing, by 0.4%.
In manufacturing, higher prices were registered in the manufacture of basic metals, by 2.1%, in the manufacture of paper and paper products, by 1.5%, and in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, by 1.3%. The prices went down in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials, by 1.0%, in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, and in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, both by 0.3%.
The Producer Price Index on the Domestic Market increased by 1.0% compared to November 2023. The prices went up in the mining and quarrying industry, by 14.9%, in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 0.4%, as well as in the manufacturing industry, by 0.1%.
In November 2024, higher prices in manufacturing in comparison with November 2023 were seen in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, by 10.9%, in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, by 9.7%, and in the manufacture of textiles, by 9.1%. Lower prices were registered in the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, by 7.3%, in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials, by 5.8%, and in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, by 5.1%.
The Producer Price Index on the Non-domestic Market was unchanged in November 2024 compared to the previous month and rose by 0.1% year on year.
