Bulgaria mourns the loss of lives in the crash of a passenger plane in Muan, the Republic of Korea, President Rumen Radev Monday wrote on the social network X following the recent plane crash that claimed 179 lives.

“I offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and deepest sympathies to the people of the Republic of Korea and of Thailand,” Radev said.

On December 29, a Jeju Air plane with 181 people on board, travelling from Thailand to South Korea, crashed during landing, leaving only two survivors, both crew members.

The pilots of the South Korean plane reported a bird strike shortly before the emergency landing, said Yonhap News Agency, quoting South Korea's Ministry of Transport.
