site.btaUnderfunded Infrastructure Speeds Up Depopulation, Says Vazrazhdane MP Candidate in Razgrad
Vazrazhdane MP candidate in Razgrad Ivaylo Hanevski on Friday stated that a lack of investment in infrastructure, of jobs and cultural opportunities contribute to population outflows and deterioration of living conditions.
Hanevski noted that among his main priorities will be dealing with the demographic crisis, which has an impact on the overall development of the region. Hanevski, a municipal councillor in Razgrad, said that it is necessary to encourage young specialists to live and work in smaller regional towns and settlements, in particular in the region of the Ludogorie, northeastern Bulgaria. This could be encouraged by housing schemes, as well as increased maternity and child benefits for working parents, he said.
The MP candidate also stressed that attracting investors by improving infrastructure and offering incentives for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and providing better conditions for agriculture, manufacturing and tourism can create jobs and retain the population in the region.
