Belgium's Charleroi Airport will remain closed on Friday due to an unannounced strike, trade unions said as quoted by local media. Work is expected to resume on Saturday but that depends on the ongoing negotiations with the airport's management

Chairleroi Airport was closed on Thursday, affecting around 30,000 passengers. Flight to and from Bulgaria were affected too. The employees' discontent is linked to an excessive workload and what they describe as poor organisation by management.

The airport services low-cost and charter flights providing connections to the Belgian capital. The strike has no impact on flights to Brussels (Zaventem Airport).
