Sixth Meeting of Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation to Be Held in Azerbaijan

After a five-year hiatus, the sixth meeting of the Bulgarian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan on July 1, the Ministry of Energy said Sunday. Bulgarian Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov will co-chair the talks. The sixth meeting is planned to consider topical issues of the Bulgarian-Azerbaijani economic relations, as well as opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Azerbaijan is a long-standing strategic partner of Bulgaria. There is a long-standing economic cooperation between the two countries and the energy sector occupies a key place in the bilateral relations. The Republic of Azerbaijan plays an important role in ensuring the diversification of natural gas supplies and, consequently, in enhancing energy security in Europe, the release said.
