The total number of employed persons in Burgas Region in the fourth quarter of 2024 was 181,000, according to data from the National Statistical Institute from Wednesday.
This marks an increase of 10.6% compared to the same period in 2023. In terms of the total number of employed persons, Burgas Region ranks fourth in the country, behind Varna Region (229,700 people) and before Stara Zagora Region (130,500 people).
The employment rate in the Region reached 55.6%, which is an increase of 2.3% compared to 2023. It is also higher than the national average of 53.2%, with the Region ranking third, ahead of Smolyan Region. The employment rate among women was 49.7%, while among men it reached 62.2%.
Among people aged 15-64, the employment rate is 72.7%, or 173,800 people, which is an increase of 10.3% compared to the fourth quarter of 2023.
Labor market data in Burgas Region also showed a slight increase in the employment rate between the third and fourth quarters of 2024, from 55.3% to 55.6%.
